And this primal power was the true, undisputed star of the extraordinary “Interstellar Live” evening, which was a resounding sell-out at the historic Vorst Nationaal arena in Brussels.

At the center of the stage and the entire sensory experience stood a majestic Maestro 70 Dlx organ. A special guest was invited to take the helm: Roger Sayer, the original organist who worked side by side with Hans Zimmer to record the film’s soundtrack. Under his expert hands, the instrument didn’t simply play—it breathed and came alive, literally shaking the very foundations of the Belgian venue and physically conveying to the audience the majesty of black holes and distant galaxies.

Bringing the sound of an organ into a massive arena like Vorst Nationaal requires absolute acoustic perfection. For this reason, the installation of the Maestro 70 Dlx was entrusted to the specialists at Van de Moer Instruments. The team did not limit themselves to stage setup but meticulously oversaw the delicate voicing process. Thanks to this surgical and custom-tailored intervention for the venue’s acoustics, every single register of the organ was calibrated to ensure powerful bass and crystal-clear treble capable of enveloping the audience without ever losing definition.
The perfect symphonic backdrop
If the organ was the main engine of this spaceship, the gravitational structure was provided by the Philzuid Orchestra. Masterfully conducted by Ben Palmer, the orchestra created the ideal sonic fabric against which the monumental chords of the Maestro 70 Dlx could shine. The perfect synergy between the organ’s imposing volume and the orchestra’s dynamics conveyed all the tension and emotion of Zimmer’s work.
Those present in Brussels experienced much more than a concert: they embarked on a true interstellar journey guided by the force of the wind and the pipes (virtual and otherwise) of an instrument without equal.
