Loren Gold

Loren Gold is an American keyboardist, singer and musical director who, in 2026, became Rush’s new backing keyboardist for the “Fifty Something” tour.

Before entering the world of classic rock, Gold built his reputation in the pop scene: he was a keyboardist and musical director for Hilary Duff from 2003 to 2007, and subsequently worked with American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, also co-writing his debut single “The Runaround”. In the years that followed, he served as musical director for Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Mandy Moore, as well as being a regular keyboardist on TV programmes such as Dancing with the Stars and America’s Got Talent.

In 2009, he began playing with Roger Daltrey, before officially joining The Who in 2012 as a keyboardist and backing vocalist, a role he held for over a decade on tours such as “Quadrophenia and More”. In 2022, he also joined Chicago, replacing Lou Pardini, before leaving the band in January 2026 to focus on Rush.

His collaborations have also included Kenny Loggins, Don Felder, Eddie Vedder, Steve Winwood and Melissa Etheridge, as well as numerous appearances on live DVDs and television programmes such as The Tonight Show and Good Morning America. In 2026, he was announced as the keyboardist alongside Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson for Rush’s “Fifty Something” tour, marking the final chapter in a career forged alongside the biggest names in classic rock.
